Scott Davies agrees to join for the 2020/21 season.

We are delighted to announce that Scott Davies will be joining our coaching team for the 2020/21 season to work alongside current backroom team of Scott Russell, Dan Chance, Mark Morris, Alex Jenkins and John 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald.

Scott even at a young age brings a wealth of experience with him to the Kingfishers as last season he was the manager of Newbridge-on-Wye FC who play in the Mid Wales Division 2, and under his leadership they were pushing for promotion until COVID-19 came along. After the league was settled on points per game (PPG) they ended the season in 4th position, winning the Division 2 Manager of the Month Award for November (See Scott pictured on the left) for gaining some great results during that month. Davies is no stranger to Scott and Dan having worked with them both previously.

When asked about Scott joining Dan Chance has this to say; "Scott will be a welcome addition to the coaching staff for next season. Not only does he have a track record at senior level but he also has an ethos that mirrors exactly what we are trying to achieve as a club."

Scott recently completed his University degree in Football Coaching and Performance at the University of South Wales and has also undertaken his B licence with the FAW.

On joining the Kingfishers Scott said; "Im excited not only to be joining a club with great history, but also to be working with Scott and Dan again, having worked with them both as part of the Hereford FC Academy. It was a difficult decision to leave Newbridge-on-Wye, who were so supportive over the last two seasons. But the chance for a fresh challenge in a new league structure is something that i felt i needed and wanted to take.

Having watched a couple of (Monmouth) games last season i was impressed with what i saw and with a few fresh faces and a bit more luck at both ends of the pitch, we can have a successful season. I cant wait to get started!"

With the club looking to make positive changes both on and off the pitch and knowing that soon we hope to have a new stand built, it really is exciting times for the club, but for the 1st team staff its the progress on the pitch where they will be putting all their efforts moving into the new season.

Finally Scott Russell added, "Scott will compliment what we already have with the current set up in Dan, Mark and myself and it was key that we brought someone in who we trust, who is hungry, who can get the best out of players and that has a winning mentality, for me he has the lot. Hes a great lad and most importantly a really good coach so im excited to bring him on board, especially as there were a few clubs after him."
